Royal Arts Town Amphitheatre (RATA) The amphitheatre is being opened in response to the Covid-19 crisis as one of the first spaces in the country to welcome audiences and provide a platform for performing artists to practice their craft again. RATA’s first summer season of productions, starring some of the Cape’s top performers, opens in November and runs until the end of April 2021. More info

 

 

REVIVE! Public Sculpture Exhibition Conceptualized to help revive the cultural tourism industry in the valley, the exhibition pairs businesses which fall within the broader category of Artists, Artisans and Crafters with a sculpture, installation or other conceptual piece. A Sculpture Trail enables visitors, both physical and virtual, to engage with each business and its artwork. More info

 

 

Solo Studios – Intimate Art Encounters Since its inception in 2016 Solo Studios has established itself as a premier art event through its unique core activity of inviting a limited number of aficionados into the intimate studio spaces of the renowned participating artists for one weekend. Complementary fringe activities and entertainment add to the experience, making it a not to be missed date on the arts calendar. More info

 

 

Solo Sessions  A collective of the valley’s established and aspiring musicians who gather at intervals at various venues to perform original and established music for the entertainment of locals and visitors. More info

 

 

The Arteri Youth Project A collective of young creatives who aim to promote artistic output amongst the youth, whilst reoxygenating our already rich tradition of creative expression in the valley. Our shop’s ethos is to facilitate conscious consumerism by highlighting the people behind the products and providing a space that supports authenticity. More Info

 

 

The Olive Branch Project As the community development wing of Arts Town Riebeek Valley, the project seeks to bridge divides and promote inclusiveness through the performing arts. Its skills transference workshops create and develop live performance events, from small soap box concerts to large scale productions, which are presented around the valley. More Info

 

 

The Steelband Project The project provides quality music education to young people in the Western Cape, with a particular focus on ‘youth-at-risk’. More Info

 

 

Galleries From contemporary art houses, to photographic and ceramic studios and community workshops, gallery spaces presenting both solo and group exhibitions are to be found throughout the valley. More Info

 

 

The Taste Route Traditional wine estates dating back generations rub shoulders with the new breed of ‘revolutionary’ wine makers’ cellars which, together with the olive and fruit producers, distillers and brewers, chefs and bakers, provide an artisanal experience to tantalize the taste buds. More Info

First Fridays / First Weekends First Fridays Riebeek Valley is held on the first Friday of every month from 17:00-20:00. Enjoy art, shopping, eating and live entertainment.
